The unique wall hanging sculptures made entirely from recycled wood, designed and created to inspire audience to see things in a different way and to share a positive message how we can reuse and recycle in creative way. I do some ‘non-traditional art’, made from recycled wood that has been abandoned by industries. There is a great pleasure in giving the wood a second life. In my belief, wood retains the spirit of the living tree and I just try to honour it. Much of my inspiration comes from the wood itself. Collecting wood simply for its natural beauty is the start of many of my works. Old wood has scratches, cracks, knots and other imperfections that are similar to real life. Every piece of wood is like a person, with its unique character, challenges and strengths.
In today’s busy digital world, all of us understand the importance of maintaining a conection with nature. I strive bringing the elements of outdoors into the indoor space, and creating art from my ultimate source of inspiration: my love of nature.
These times are strange and unsettling. The whole world is on pause. A time for reflection and an opportunity to look inward. A time to take notice and appreciate the simple things in life. A time to be grateful for what we have …. and for those around us that help make our days a little bit better
Immersing myself in the making of something is incredibly calming. It’s something I’m really trying to do more regularly as the restlessness of self-isolation and social distancing kick in.
