I do some ‘non-traditional art’, made from recycled wood that has been abandoned by industries. There is a great pleasure in giving the wood a second life. In my belief, wood retains the spirit of the living tree and I just try to honour it. Much of my inspiration comes from the wood itself. Collecting wood simply for its natural beauty is the start of many of my works. Old wood has scratches, cracks, knots and other imperfections that are similar to real life. Every piece of wood is like a person, with its unique character, challenges and strengths.
In today’s busy digital world, all of us understand the importance of maintaining a conection with nature. I strive bringing the elements of outdoors into the indoor space, and creating art from my ultimate source of inspiration: my love of nature.
